At first I thought this was going to be hokey, but before long it became more like the original. One thing I liked about the original was the strange sounds some of the characters made. Like a male merchant who sounds Italian when he shouts something is for sale. Or the female merchant who just yells "Hey" and then kind of a provocative "Uh-Huh" once you purchased.

My all time favorites though are both the soldier and the Orcs. The soldier makes a nervous sound whenever he need to destroy a enemy structure or attack an orc. Then these big ugly orcs that will come to your structures and destroy them if they get through yell "Why" when the soldiers kills them That's why I learned the first game to just play the relaxed mode if I want to make it all the way or you most likely will get stuck.

You still can be challenged by playing for time, but if you get stuck You can still continue without making a star. Rated 4 out of 5 by bessiegirl from a struggle First, unless you are some kind of a magic, super expert player don't play with the timer I play these time management games a lot and thought I was pretty good at them, but this one Even playing without the timer, I got 3 stars for the first 3 levels and the rest of the 37 left I was lucky to ever get more than 1 and most of the time nothing.

Fun to play but if you are trying for stars, you will be frustrated. The only tech problem I had was with level 40 the last one. First time the little guys were unable to pick up items and I thought the game, since it was the last level, had some hidden secret to make it work. I finally quit and went to the internet to find an answer So I went out completely and returned and the level worked fine. I had not played the first Kingdom Chronicles so I intend to purchase.

Game is a strategist nightmare, but fun and keeps your mouse active! Just don't let it frustrate you. It is a very challenging game that requires a lot of strategies to win gold on the levels so it's not for the faint of heart. I consider myself to be an experienced TM player, and I have had to replay most of the levels several times to earn a perfect score, and not just the higher levels, almost from the get-go!

There have been several levels that I thought were nearly impossible to get 3 stars on, some of which I replayed times in a row, tweaking my task queues each time until I finally did it. It may seem ridiculously hard at times, but when you finally do complete a difficult level and earn all 3 stars or gold, you feel a great sense of accomplishment, more so than most other TM games. I do highly recommend the Collector's Edition version over this Standard Edition version because this is definitely the kind of game that a Strategy Guide is beneficial, perhaps a necessity!

You also get 34 Achievement Trophies you may as well get a pat on the back for all your hard work and Bonus Levels.
